The Future of AI Cybersecurity
From David Bombal's new video, with him interviewing Jeetu Patel, here are some interesting/insightful takes on the trend of Cybersecurity, and the role of AI in Cybersecurity in the coming time:
▶️ Historically, attackers have had the advantage due to needing to be right only once, while defenders must be right every time. However, there is a potential shift in favor of defenders, enabled by data advantage and effective correlation and analysis.
▶️ They discuss the fragmentation of cybersecurity solutions and the need for integrated platforms. Also emphasize on the importance of AI in handling the vast amount of data and improving security efficacy, experience, and economics (for organizations, that typically have multiple security products for specific issues), by assisting, augmenting and automating.
▶️ They highlight the need for diverse talent in cybersecurity, and aim for more user-friendly interfaces akin to consumer tech products, and also discusse the potential of AI in detecting incidents, while keeping in mind the importance of privacy and consent in data usage.
▶️ They conclude by addressing concerns about AI replacing jobs and the importance of human judgment in security. There's also discussion about certain current uses of AI in Cisco's products.
